Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start by heading southwest on National Route 1A (QL1A) from any location in Southeast Vietnam. Continue on QL1A until you reach the turnoff for ĐT20 (the road leading to Phong Nha). Follow ĐT20 for approximately 20 kilometers. Look for signage directing you to Phong Nha Botanic Garden. The entrance will be on your left, and there is parking available on-site.

• Public Bus

  From major cities in Southeast Vietnam, such as Hue or Da Nang, take a public bus to Dong Hoi. The bus journey can take around 4-5 hours, costing approximately 150,000 to 200,000 VND. Once you arrive in Dong Hoi, you can take a local bus or taxi to Phong Nha, which is about 45 kilometers away. Local buses run regularly and cost around 50,000 VND. Inform the driver that you are going to Phong Nha Botanic Garden, and they will drop you off at the nearest stop.

• Taxi or Ride-hailing Service

  If you prefer more convenience, you can take a taxi or use a ride-hailing app like Grab from Dong Hoi to Phong Nha Botanic Garden. The distance is about 45 kilometers, and the fare typically ranges from 250,000 to 400,000 VND depending on traffic. Ensure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.

• Motorbike Rental

  For the adventurous traveler, renting a motorbike in Dong Hoi is an excellent option. Several rental shops offer bikes for about 100,000 to 200,000 VND per day. From Dong Hoi, follow the directions for public transportation by taking QL1A to ĐT20, then follow this road to reach Phong Nha Botanic Garden. Remember to wear a helmet and have your driver's license with you.
