Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from Hanoi and head northwest on National Route 32 towards Son La Province. Continue on this road for about 200 kilometers until you reach the town of Son La. From Son La, take National Route 37 towards Bắc Yên District. After approximately 50 kilometers, you will see signs for Ta Xua Nature Reserve. Follow the signs and take a left turn onto the access road leading to the reserve. Please note that the roads may be winding and require caution while driving.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Ta Xua Nature Reserve using public transportation, take a bus from Hanoi to Son La. The bus departs from My Dinh Bus Station and the journey takes about 6-7 hours. Upon arrival in Son La, you will need to transfer to a local bus or taxi to Bắc Yên District. The local bus station is located near the main bus terminal in Son La. From Bắc Yên, you can hire a taxi or motorbike to the reserve. The fare for a taxi from Bắc Yên to Ta Xua Nature Reserve may cost around 200,000 to 300,000 VND, depending on negotiation.

• Motorbike

  If you prefer to ride a motorbike, you can rent one in Hanoi. Follow the same route as driving by car, taking National Route 32 northwest to Son La, then National Route 37 to Bắc Yên District. Ensure you have appropriate gear and a valid driver's license. In addition, be prepared for the terrain, as the roads can be steep and winding. Fuel costs for the trip will depend on your bike's consumption, but budget for around 300,000 to 400,000 VND for the round trip.
