Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from anywhere in Blue Ridge Highlands, head towards US-221 S. Once you're on US-221 S, continue for about 10 miles until you reach the intersection with the Blue Ridge Parkway. Turn left onto Blue Ridge Parkway (follow signs for Parkway). Continue driving on the Parkway for about 15 miles. The Roanoke River Overlook will be on your right. There are parking areas available, so you can easily pull in and enjoy the view.

• Public Transportation

  While public transportation options are limited in the Blue Ridge Highlands area, you can take a bus to Roanoke, VA. From the Roanoke bus station, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach the Roanoke River Overlook, which is approximately 15 miles from downtown Roanoke.
