If you are starting from the Chesapeake City Center, head to the nearest bus stop to catch the HRT (Hampton Roads Transit) bus route that goes towards Indian River. You can take bus route 11 or 12 towards the Indian River area. Get off at the stop closest to Rokeby Avenue, which is a short walk from the park. Once you disembark, walk south on Indian River Road until you reach Rokeby Avenue, then turn left and continue walking until you reach the park entrance at 2003 Rokeby Ave.
Bicycle
If you prefer biking, start from the Chesapeake City Center and follow the bike paths along Indian River Road. Head east towards Rokeby Avenue. You will find bike lanes along the way, making it a safe route. Once you reach Rokeby Avenue, head south until you arrive at Indian River Park South Side.
Walking
For those who wish to walk, starting from the Chesapeake City Center, walk east towards Indian River Road. Follow the sidewalk along Indian River Road heading south. You will have a scenic walk with trees lining the road. When you reach Rokeby Avenue, turn left and continue walking until you arrive at Indian River Park South Side, located at 2003 Rokeby Ave.
