Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the visitor center of Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. Head southeast on Refuge Road until you reach the junction with US-17. Turn left onto US-17 South, and continue for approximately 4 miles. Take the exit toward I-64 E/I-464 S and merge onto I-64 E. After about 7 miles, take exit 298 for US-13 S toward Chesapeake. Continue on US-13 S for about 5 miles, and then take a left onto Elizabeth River Way. The Elizabeth River Boat Landing and Park will be on your right at 1400 Elizabeth River Way, Chesapeake, VA 23324. There is free parking available at the park.

  To reach Elizabeth River Boat Landing and Park using public transportation, you will first need to take a bus from the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge visitor center to downtown Chesapeake. Check the local transit schedules for bus routes that connect to the nearest station. Once in downtown Chesapeake, transfer to the local bus that services the Elizabeth River Way. This may take some time, so plan your trip accordingly. Ensure you have cash or a transit card for the fare. The park is located at 1400 Elizabeth River Way, and you will need to walk a short distance from the bus stop to reach the entrance.
