    Getting There

    Car

    If you are driving within Grayson Highlands State Park, make your way to the Grayson Highlands State Park entrance. From the entrance, follow the signs leading to the parking area for the Massie Gap. Once parked, you will find trail access points nearby.

    Hiking

    From the Massie Gap parking area, locate the Appalachian Trail (AT) which is well marked. You will want to hike the AT towards the Little Pinnacle viewpoint. The trail is approximately 1.5 miles from Massie Gap to the viewpoint. Follow the trail markers, and be prepared for a moderate climb. The trail is well maintained, but wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring water.

    Public Transportation

    If you are relying on public transportation, check for local shuttle services that may operate in the area, as there are limited options. The nearest major town is Marion, VA. From Marion, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to Grayson Highlands State Park. Once at the park, follow the guidance for hiking from the Massie Gap parking area.
