Public Bus
From the downtown area of Harrisonburg, head to the nearest JMU bus stop. You can use the JMU Transit system, which is free for everyone. Take the bus heading towards the 'North Campus' and get off at the last stop. From there, you will need to transfer to the 'Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport' bus route. After boarding, stay on the bus until you reach the airport. Once you arrive at the airport, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to 259 Big Meadows Visitor Rd, Madison, VA 22727. It is approximately a 30-minute drive from the airport to your destination.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer a more active approach, consider renting a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Harrisonburg. Once you have your bicycle, head south on S Main St towards E Market St. Turn left onto E Market St and continue to follow the road as it becomes S High St. After a short ride, take a right onto US-33 E. Continue on US-33 E for about 15 miles, enjoying the scenic views. When you reach the intersection with Big Meadows Visitor Rd, turn left and follow the road to 259 Big Meadows Visitor Rd, Madison, VA 22727.
Walking
For those who enjoy walking, start at the Harrisonburg Visitor Center located at 212 S Main St. From there, walk north on S Main St until you reach the intersection with W Water St. Turn left onto W Water St and continue walking until you reach US-33 E. Cross the street and head east on US-33 E. You will be walking approximately 15 miles, which will take several hours. Be sure to enjoy the scenery along the way, and once you reach the intersection with Big Meadows Visitor Rd, turn left and walk until you arrive at 259 Big Meadows Visitor Rd, Madison, VA 22727.
