Walking
If you are starting from downtown Harrisonburg, head east on East Market Street (US-33) until you reach the intersection with South Main Street. Turn left onto South Main Street and continue south for about 0.5 miles. Look for the signs directing you to James Madison University. As you approach the campus, you will see the entrance at South High Street. Enter the campus and follow the signs to Carrier Drive. Continue straight on Carrier Drive until you reach the Mineral Museum, located at 1301 Carrier Dr. The museum is situated in the lower level of the Miller Hall.

From downtown Harrisonburg, you can catch a JMU Shuttle Bus. Look for the Blue or Gold route, which operates during the academic year. Board the bus at the nearest stop, and tell the driver you want to go to the Mineral Museum. The bus will take you directly to the JMU campus. Once you get off, follow the signs to Carrier Drive, and the Mineral Museum will be a short walk away at 1301 Carrier Dr.
