From Luray Caverns, head south on US-340 S toward Luray. Continue on US-340 S for about 2.5 miles. Then, turn right onto VA-211 W. Follow VA-211 W for approximately 6 miles until you reach the intersection with Skyline Drive. Turn left onto Skyline Drive. Continue on Skyline Drive for about 5.5 miles, and you will see the sign for Thorofare Mountain Overlook on your left. There is no entrance fee for the overlook, but you may need to pay a fee for Skyline Drive if you enter from another point.

Unfortunately, there is no direct public transportation to Thorofare Mountain Overlook. However, you can take a local taxi or rideshare service from Luray Caverns to a point near the entrance of Skyline Drive. Once at Skyline Drive, you will need to either walk or arrange for another taxi to take you to the overlook, which is about 5.5 miles from the entrance. Be sure to check local taxi services for rates, as they can vary.
