Getting There

  • Public Transit - Bus

    From the Newport News Transit Center, board the Hampton Roads Transit Bus Route 102 towards 'Huntington Ave'. Stay on the bus for approximately 20 minutes, passing through several stops including 'Main St. & 26th St.' and 'Huntington & 25th St.' until you reach the stop at 'Huntington Ave & 59th St'. From there, you will walk approximately 5 minutes. Exit the bus, turn left onto Huntington Ave, and continue walking until you reach 5900 Huntington Ave, where the North End Historic District is located.

    If you are starting from the City Center at Oyster Point, head southeast on Canon Blvd towards the intersection with Warwick Blvd. Turn left onto Warwick Blvd and continue walking for about 1 mile until you reach the intersection with 59th St. Turn right onto 59th St, and continue straight until you reach Huntington Ave. Turn left on Huntington Ave and walk for a few minutes until you see 5900 Huntington Ave, the North End Historic District, on your right.

    If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride from the Newport News Park. Start on the bike path heading southeast towards the intersection with Jefferson Ave. Take a right onto Jefferson Ave and continue for about 2 miles.
