Bus
From Petersburg, head to the Petersburg Transit Center located at 100 E Washington St. Catch the GRTC Route 1 bus towards the City of Richmond. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at Broad St & 29th St. From there, transfer to the GRTC Route 6 bus towards the Museum District. Ride for another 15 minutes and get off at the stop on Grove Ave & 29th St. Walk east on Grove Ave for about 5 minutes until you arrive at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Sculpture Garden.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, start at the center of Petersburg and head towards the Appomattox River. Follow the Riverwalk Trail north until you reach the intersection with the Virginia Capital Trail. Take the Virginia Capital Trail heading west toward Richmond. Continue along this trail for approximately 25 miles, which will lead you directly into Richmond. Once you reach Richmond, navigate towards Grove Ave, and follow it until you see the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Sculpture Garden on your left.

Walking
If you enjoy walking and are up for a longer trek, you can walk from Petersburg to Richmond. Start at the Petersburg Courthouse and head west on E Washington St. Continue straight as it turns into Crater Rd, which will lead you toward the bridge over the Appomattox River. Cross the bridge, and continue along the road, which will take you towards Broad St in Richmond. When you reach Broad St, turn left and walk west until you reach Grove Ave. Turn right on Grove Ave and continue until you arrive at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Sculpture Garden.
