To reach Hawksbill Summit in Shenandoah National Park from downtown Harrisonburg, start by taking the Harrisonburg Public Transit bus Route 5 towards 'Valley Mall.' After about 15 minutes, get off at the stop named 'Valley Mall.' From there, transfer to the 'Luray Shuttle' at the designated shuttle stop. The shuttle will take you directly to the entrance of Shenandoah National Park. Once you arrive at the park entrance, you can take a park shuttle or follow the clearly marked trails to Hawksbill Summit, which is approximately a 2-mile hike from the parking area.

If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Harrisonburg. Start at the bike shop near downtown, then head east on East Market Street (Route 33).
