Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start by getting onto I-581 S from your location in Roanoke Valley. Follow I-581 S for about 2 miles. Take exit 3 for US-220 S toward Bristol. Merge onto US-220 S and continue for approximately 3 miles. Take the exit for Mill Mountain Park, which will be on your right. Once you exit, follow the signs to Mill Mountain Star, which is located at 2000 JB Fishburn Pkwy SE, Roanoke, VA 24014. There is free parking available at the park.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, catch a Roanoke Valley Metro bus that services the area. You can board the bus at the nearest stop to your location. Make sure to check the bus schedule beforehand, as services may vary. You will want to get off at the stop closest to Mill Mountain Park. From there, it’s a short walk to the entrance of the park. Be aware that there may be a small fare for riding the bus, typically around $1.00.

• Walking

  If you are already within walking distance, simply head towards Mill Mountain Park. The park entrance is located at 2000 JB Fishburn Pkwy SE. Look for the entrance sign and follow the paved path leading up to the star. It’s a scenic walk, and you will enjoy beautiful views along the way.

• Biking

  For biking enthusiasts, you can ride to Mill Mountain Park. There are bike lanes available in certain areas of Roanoke Valley. Once you reach Mill Mountain Park, you can park your bike at the designated bike racks near the entrance. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws while biking.
