Public Bus
Start your journey from downtown Roanoke. Head to the nearest bus stop and take the Valley Metro Bus Route 25 towards the 'Roanoke Memorial Hospital'. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the bus stop closest to the intersection of 5th St SW and Campbell Ave SW. From there, walk north on 5th St SW until you reach the Roanoke City Market area.
Walking
Once at the Roanoke City Market, continue walking north on 5th St SW, which will become Williamson Rd. Walk about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Walnut Ave, where you’ll need to turn right. Continue on Walnut Ave for another 0.5 miles until you reach the entrance of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Hiking
After entering the Blue Ridge Parkway, you will see signs for the Roanoke Mountain Loop Road. Follow the signs and continue straight for about 2 miles. You will eventually reach the Roanoke Mountain Overlook, which offers stunning views of the surrounding area. The hike will take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on your pace.
