Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the downtown area of Roanoke, head east on Campbell Avenue toward 3rd Street SW. Continue on Campbell Avenue until you reach 10th Street SW. Turn left onto 10th Street SW and walk north until you reach the intersection with Walnut Avenue. Turn right onto Walnut Avenue, which will take you toward Mill Mountain. As you walk, you will see signs that guide you toward Mill Mountain Park. Follow these signs until you reach the entrance of the park. From the park entrance, continue walking until you arrive at the Mill Mountain Discovery Center located at 2000 Jb Fishburn Pkwy SE.

  Begin your journey at the Roanoke City Market area. Walk to the nearest bus stop (check local bus schedules for the exact stop). You can take the Valley Metro bus service – look for the bus routes that head toward Mill Mountain Park. Depending on the specific route, you may need to transfer buses at the main transit hub. Once you are on the bus heading toward Mill Mountain, stay on until you reach the stop nearest to the Discovery Center. From the bus stop, it will be a short walk to the Mill Mountain Discovery Center located at 2000 Jb Fishburn Pkwy SE.
