Car
If you are driving within Shenandoah National Park, start at the nearest park entrance. For visitors entering from the Thornton Gap Entrance Station (located at milepost 31.5 on Skyline Drive), continue south on Skyline Drive for approximately 10 miles. Look for the sign for Meadow Spring Trail on your left, just past milepost 39. There is a parking area available where you can leave your car before heading onto the trail.
Public Transportation to Car Rental
If you are using public transportation, take a bus or train to Front Royal, Virginia, which is the closest town to the northern entrance of Shenandoah National Park. From Front Royal, you can rent a car at local rental agencies. After renting a car, follow the same directions as above to reach the Meadow Spring Trail parking area.
Hiking from Nearby Trails
If you are already hiking in the area, you can access Meadow Spring Trail by connecting from nearby trails such as the Hughes River Trail or the Overall Run Trail. Look for trail markers indicating the direction to Meadow Spring Trail. Make sure to check trail maps available at visitor centers for the best route.
