Car
If you're traveling by car, head towards Grottoes, Virginia. From I-81, take Exit 240A for US-250 E towards Staunton. Continue for approximately 14 miles, then turn right onto US-11 S. After about 1 mile, turn left onto Grand Cavern Rd. Follow this road for about 1 mile, and you'll see Grand Caverns on your right at 5 Grand Cavern Rd, Grottoes, VA 24441.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, the nearest bus station is in Harrisonburg, VA. From there, you can take the Valley Metro bus service to Grottoes. Once you arrive in Grottoes, you will need a taxi or rideshare service to reach Grand Caverns, which is approximately 3 miles away. Ensure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may vary.
Bicycle
If you're adventurous and prefer cycling, you can bike from nearby towns such as Harrisonburg or Staunton. The roads are generally safe, but be cautious of traffic. Use US-250 and then US-11 to get to Grand Cavern Rd. Plan for a scenic ride, approximately 14 miles from Harrisonburg or 10 miles from Staunton, taking about 1 hour depending on your pace.
Walking
If you are already in Grottoes and prefer to walk, you can reach Grand Caverns by heading south on Main St. for about 1.5 miles, then turning onto Grand Cavern Rd. It’s a leisurely walk that will take you approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
