If you're driving to Pony Overlook, start from the Assateague Island National Seashore entrance. Head northeast on Assateague Island Road (Route 611) and continue straight for about 9 miles. The road will take you towards Chincoteague Island. Once you reach the intersection with Maddox Boulevard, turn left. Continue on Maddox Boulevard until you see a right turn for Woodland Trail. Follow Woodland Trail for approximately 1.5 miles. Pony Overlook will be on your left. There is no parking fee at this location.

If you are using public transportation, you will first need to take a bus or shuttle from your location in Assateague Island to Chincoteague Island. Most local hotels and attractions offer shuttle services. Once you arrive at Chincoteague, you can either walk or take a taxi to Woodland Trail.
