    Walking

    If you are in the historic area of Williamsburg, start at the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center. Head southwest on Visitor Center Drive toward South England Street. After about 0.2 miles, turn right onto South England Street. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 60. Cross over Route 60 and take a left onto Island Drive. Walk along Island Drive for about 0.3 miles. The Ambler Mansion Ruins will be on your left, marked by a small sign indicating its historical significance.

    Public Transit

    From the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the Visitor Center. Take the James City County Transit bus route 1 towards the Kingsmill Resort. Get off at the stop named 'Kingsmill Resort'. From there, it’s a 10-minute walk. Head northeast on Kingsmill Road toward Island Drive. Turn right onto Island Drive and walk for about 0.5 miles. The Ambler Mansion Ruins will be on your right.

    Biking

    Rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Williamsburg. Start at the bike rental location and head towards the Colonial Parkway. Ride along the Parkway towards the Jamestown area. After about 1.5 miles, take the exit toward Island Drive. Follow Island Drive for approximately 0.5 miles. The Ambler Mansion Ruins will be located on your left. There is a small area to park your bike near the ruins.
