Getting There

  • Public Transit

    From the Federal Way Transit Center, board the Sound Transit bus route 586 towards Seattle. The bus will take you directly to the West Seattle area. After approximately 45 minutes, disembark at the stop near Alki Beach (look for signs indicating Alki Beach or stop number 145). From the bus stop, it's a short 5-10 minute walk west along Alki Avenue SW to reach the beach.

  • Walking

    If you are near the Federal Way Community Center, begin by heading northwest on S 348th St toward Pacific Hwy S. Continue walking for about 1 mile until you reach the Federal Way Transit Center. From there, follow the directions for Public Transit to Alki Beach.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer to bike, head to the Interurban Trail which is accessible from various points in Federal Way. Follow the trail north, which will lead you toward the Seattle area. Once you reach the area near the West Seattle bridge, head west toward Alki Avenue SW. Once on Alki Avenue SW, continue biking until you arrive at Alki Beach, which should take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your speed.
