If you are in downtown Seattle, head to the main bus terminal at 3rd Ave & Pike St. Board the Metro Bus Route 50 towards Westwood Village. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes. You will pass through various neighborhoods including West Seattle. Get off at the stop 'Alki Ave SW & 61st Ave SW.' From there, walk west on Alki Ave SW for about 10 minutes until you reach the beach. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!
Water Taxi
Another exciting way to get to Alki Beach is by taking the Seattle Water Taxi. Start at Pier 50 on the waterfront. Purchase a ticket at the kiosk and board the water taxi heading to West Seattle. The ride takes about 10-15 minutes and offers beautiful views of Elliott Bay. Once you arrive at the West Seattle terminal, exit and walk south on Harbor Ave SW. After about a 15-minute walk, you will arrive at Alki Beach. Enjoy the waterfront sights as you stroll along!
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, consider renting a bike to ride to Alki Beach. There are several bike rental shops in downtown Seattle. Once you have your bike, head south towards the West Seattle Bridge. Take the bridge for a scenic ride and follow the signs to Alki Beach. It’s approximately a 5-mile ride, and you can enjoy views of the city skyline as you pedal. Once you reach Alki, you will find a path along the beach, perfect for a leisurely ride or walk.
Walking
If you're close enough and enjoy walking, you can take a scenic stroll to Alki Beach. From downtown Seattle, walk towards the waterfront and follow Alaskan Way south until you reach the ferry terminal. From there, you can take a short ferry ride to West Seattle, then walk along Harbor Ave SW. The total distance is approximately 3 miles from the ferry terminal, and it will take about 60-90 minutes to walk, depending on your pace. Enjoy the views along the waterfront!
