Bus
From Federal Way Transit Center, take Sound Transit Bus Route 586 towards Seattle. This bus will take you directly to the Tacoma Dome Station. Once you arrive at the Tacoma Dome Station, transfer to Sound Transit Link Light Rail. Board the train heading towards Northgate. Stay on the train for approximately 30 minutes and get off at the University Street Station. From there, walk northwest on University Street, then turn left onto 1st Avenue. The Seattle Art Museum will be on your right at 1300 1st Ave, Seattle, WA 98101.
Train
Start at the Federal Way Sounder Station. Board the Sounder train heading towards Seattle. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at King Street Station in Seattle, exit the station and head northeast on Jackson Street. Turn left onto 1st Avenue and continue walking for about 10 minutes. The Seattle Art Museum will be on your right at 1300 1st Ave, Seattle, WA 98101.
Bicycle
If you choose to bike, start from Federal Way and follow the Interurban Trail north. This scenic route will take you through several parks and neighborhoods. Continue on the trail until you reach the Southcenter area, then follow signs to the Green River Trail. Head towards Seattle, which will eventually lead you to downtown. Once in downtown Seattle, bike towards the waterfront and take a left on 1st Avenue. The Seattle Art Museum will be located at 1300 1st Ave, Seattle, WA 98101.
Walking
If you are in the vicinity of Federal Way and prefer to walk, start from the Federal Way Commons Mall. Head north on 20th Ave S until you reach S 320th St. Turn left and walk until you reach the Transit Center. From there, you can connect to the bus or train services mentioned above, or continue your journey by foot if you feel adventurous. The walk will take approximately 2 hours, so it’s recommended to use a public transport option instead.
