Getting There

  • Bus

    From Federal Way Transit Center, take the Sound Transit Bus Route 586 towards Seattle. This bus will take you directly to the University of Washington Station. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the University of Washington Station, transfer to the Metro Bus Route 43, heading towards the Capitol Hill area. Get off at the stop on 15th Ave E & E Galer St. From there, it is a short walk to Volunteer Park, located at 1247 15th Ave E. Just walk south on 15th Ave E until you reach the park entrance.

  • Light Rail

    At Federal Way Transit Center, board the Sound Transit Link Light Rail heading towards Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Travel to the Angle Lake Station and transfer to the Link Light Rail towards Northgate. Ride the train until you reach the Capitol Hill Station. From Capitol Hill Station, exit and walk south on 10th Ave E. Turn left onto E Galer St, and then turn right onto 15th Ave E. Continue walking until you arrive at Volunteer Park at 1247 15th Ave E.

  • Walking

    If you are staying near downtown Federal Way, you can take a leisurely walk to Volunteer Park. Head north on Pacific Hwy E, then turn left onto S 348th St. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with 15th Ave E. Head north on 15th Ave E, following it all the way to Volunteer Park. This walk is approximately 2.5 miles and should take around 50 minutes.
