Getting There

Bus
From downtown Kirkland, walk to the Kirkland Transit Center located at 10603 NE 38th Place. Board the Metro bus route 230 towards Seattle. The bus will take you across the lake to Seattle. Stay on the bus for about 30-40 minutes. Get off at the stop for Alki Beach, which is near the intersection of Alki Ave SW and 63rd Ave SW. Once you disembark, walk west along Alki Ave SW for about 10 minutes, and you will reach the beach.

Bicycle
If you enjoy cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Kirkland. Start your ride from Kirkland and head south along the waterfront trail towards the South Kirkland Park and Ride. Follow Lake Washington Blvd S until you reach the I-90 bridge. Cross the bridge, and continue straight to connect to Alki Beach. It will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your cycling speed.

Walking
If you prefer to walk to Alki Beach, start from downtown Kirkland and head towards the waterfront. Walk south along Lake Street to the Kirkland Marina. From there, continue along the waterfront until you reach the South Kirkland Park and Ride. Next, follow the Lake Washington Blvd S until you reach the I-90 bridge. Once across, you can head west along Alki Ave SW. This walk will take approximately 2 to 3 hours, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
