Getting There

Car
From Mount Baker, start your journey by getting onto WA-542 E (Mount Baker Highway). Follow WA-542 E for approximately 30 miles until you reach the junction with WA-20. Turn left onto WA-20 W, which is also known as North Cascades Highway. Continue on WA-20 W for about 35 miles until you reach the entrance to North Cascades National Park. There is a vehicle entrance fee of $30, valid for seven days, which you will need to pay at the entrance station.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, start by taking a bus from Mount Baker to the nearest town with bus services, which is Bellingham. From Mount Baker, you can catch the Whatcom Transportation Authority (WTA) bus service to Bellingham. Once in Bellingham, take a Greyhound or Amtrak bus to Sedro-Woolley. From Sedro-Woolley, you will need to transfer to a local bus service or arrange for a shuttle service that operates to North Cascades National Park. Be sure to check the schedules in advance as public transport options may be limited and could incur additional costs.

Bike
For the adventurous, biking is an option. From Mount Baker, take the same route as you would by car, using WA-542 E, and then WA-20 W. There are bike paths along some parts of the highway, but be prepared for steep grades and traffic. Be sure to carry all necessary supplies, including water, snacks, and a repair kit. The journey is approximately 65 miles and could take several hours, so plan accordingly.
