Car
From Mount Baker, head southeast on Mount Baker Highway (WA-542) towards Deming. Continue on WA-542 for approximately 18 miles until you reach the intersection with Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Look for signs indicating the Mt Baker National Recreation Area. After about 1 mile, turn right onto Forest Road 31. Follow this road for about 5 miles until you reach the parking area at the Mt Baker National Recreation Area.
Public Transportation
If traveling by public transportation, you can take a bus from Bellingham to Deming. The bus service is operated by Whatcom Transportation Authority. Once in Deming, you can arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the Mt Baker National Recreation Area, as public transportation does not directly service the recreation area. Be prepared for taxi fares that may range from $20 to $40 depending on distance.
