Getting There

  • Car

    From Mount Baker, head southeast on Mount Baker Highway (WA-542 E). Continue on WA-542 for about 20 miles until you reach the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest entrance. There are signs indicating the Mount Baker Wilderness area. Depending on the time of year, there might be a parking fee of around $5 to $10, so be prepared with cash or a credit card.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are taking public transportation, you can catch a bus from Bellingham to Glacier via the Whatcom Transportation Authority (WTA). The bus will take you to Glacier. From Glacier, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the Mount Baker Wilderness area, as public transport does not go directly into the wilderness. Be aware that the taxi fare may vary, so it's advisable to check rates in advance.

  • Hiking/Walking

    Once you arrive at the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest entrance, you will find various trailheads leading into the Mount Baker Wilderness.
