Car
From Ashford, WA, head east on State Route 706 towards Mount Rainier National Park. Follow SR 706 for about 14 miles until you reach the entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. You will need to pay an entrance fee of $30 per vehicle, which is valid for seven days. Once inside the park, continue on the road until you reach the Paradise area, which is approximately another 17 miles along the main road. Look for signs directing you to the Paradise Visitor Center.
Hiking
From the Paradise Visitor Center, park your vehicle and head to the trailhead for the Skyline Trail. The trail starts right behind the visitor center. The hike to Panorama Point is approximately 1.5 miles one way, with a moderate elevation gain. Follow the well-marked trail, and enjoy the breathtaking views along the way. The hike typically takes around 1-2 hours to reach the overlook, depending on your pace.
Public Transportation
If you are relying on public transportation, you can take a shuttle service from Ashford or nearby towns to the Mount Rainier National Park entrance. Check local shuttle schedules as they may vary seasonally. Once at the park entrance, you will still need to take the park's shuttle service to the Paradise area. Make sure to confirm if the shuttle goes to the Paradise Visitor Center, as services may be limited. Tickets for the park shuttle can usually be purchased on-site.
