If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Castle Rock, WA. Head east on WA-504 E towards Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. Continue on WA-504 E for approximately 15 miles. Once you reach the junction, follow the signs to Ape Cave, which will direct you to a right turn onto Spirit Lake Highway (WA-504). Drive for about 6 miles until you reach the Ape Cave parking area, located on your left. Make sure to have a $5 day-use fee ready for entry.

From Castle Rock, you will need to find a local taxi or rideshare service to take you to Ape Cave, as public transit options are limited. The taxi ride will take approximately 30 minutes and cost around $40. Once at the Ape Cave parking area, you'll need to hike about 1 mile to the cave entrance.
