Car
If you are traveling by car, make your way to the town of Deming, WA, located off Interstate 5. Take exit 255 onto WA-542 E, and follow this road for approximately 20 miles. You will pass through the small town of Glacier. Continue on WA-542 E until you reach the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest area. Look for signs indicating the trailhead. Lake Ann Trailhead is located on Forest Road 3065, which you will take to reach the parking area. Be aware that there may be a parking fee at the trailhead, so have cash ready.
Public Transportation + Car
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Seattle to Bellingham, which can be booked via Greyhound or Amtrak. From Bellingham, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to Deming. Once in Deming, follow the previous car instructions to reach the Lake Ann Trailhead. Note that public transportation options may vary, and it is advisable to check the latest schedules and availability in advance.
Hiking from nearby trails
If you are already on a nearby hiking trail, such as the Chain Lakes Loop, you can access Lake Ann by following the marked trails that connect. Be sure to have a reliable map or GPS device, as the trails can be less marked in some areas. This alternative route may require additional hiking time, so plan accordingly and carry sufficient water and supplies.
