If you're driving to Thunder Knob Trailhead from the town of Rockport, start by heading east on State Route 20 (North Cascades Highway). Continue on SR 20 for approximately 8 miles. You will pass through scenic areas and may enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and forests. Look for the sign for Thunder Knob Trailhead on your right after about 8 miles. The parking lot is located directly off the highway. Make sure to park in the designated area.
Public Transportation
To reach Thunder Knob Trailhead by public transportation, you would typically take a bus from the nearest larger town, which is Concrete, WA. From Concrete, you would need to check the Skagit Transit schedule for the bus route that goes along State Route 20. Get off at the stop closest to the Thunder Knob Trailhead.
