From Winthrop, WA, head east on State Route 20. Continue for approximately 14 miles. You will pass through beautiful scenery, including forests and mountains. Look for signs indicating Blue Lake and the access road. Turn left onto the Blue Lake Road, which is a gravel road. Drive approximately 2 miles up this road to reach the parking area for Blue Lake trailhead.

If you're relying on public transportation, you can take a bus from Winthrop to Twisp. From Twisp, you'll need to arrange a local taxi or rideshare service to get to the Blue Lake Road turn-off on State Route 20. The final stretch to Blue Lake requires a hike. Once you are dropped off at the Blue Lake Road, it's about a 2-mile hike to the lake. Be prepared for a moderate hike and wear appropriate footwear.
