Car
If you are already in the Dolly Sods Wilderness area, make your way to the nearest major road, either via Forest Road 75 or Route 32. From there, head south on Route 32 towards Elkins. Continue for about 15 miles until you reach the intersection with US-219. Turn left onto US-219 and continue for approximately 5 miles. Look for signs directing you to Stuart Recreation Area, located on your right side. The recreation area is situated at coordinates 38.9187° N, 79.7729° W. Parking is available on-site.

While public transportation options are limited in the rural areas of West Virginia, you can take a Greyhound bus to Elkins, which is the closest city to Stuart Recreation Area.
