Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Elkins (for example, start at the Elkins City Hall located at 400 Davis Ave), head northwest on Davis Ave toward 5th St. Continue straight onto 5th St. After about 0.3 miles, turn left onto Randolph Ave. Follow Randolph Ave for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with US-219 S. Carefully cross the intersection and continue straight onto US-219 S. After about 1.5 miles, turn right onto a small gravel road that leads to Bowden Cave. The cave entrance is located approximately 0.2 miles down this road.

• Bicycle

  Begin at the Elkins City Park, which is a central and accessible location. Cycle east on Davis Ave for 0.2 miles, then turn left onto 5th St. Continue on 5th St for another 0.3 miles and turn left onto Randolph Ave. Follow this road for roughly 0.5 miles, and at the intersection with US-219 S, make sure to cross carefully to continue onto US-219 S. Cycle south for approximately 1.5 miles, then make a right onto the gravel road that leads to Bowden Cave, which is about 0.2 miles down this road.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  From the Elkins City center, you can catch the local bus (check the current schedule for the Elkins Transit) that travels along US-219 S. Make sure to get off at the stop nearest to the intersection with the gravel road leading to Bowden Cave. After getting off the bus, walk approximately 0.2 miles down the gravel road to reach the entrance of Bowden Cave.
