Getting There

• Walking

  Starting from downtown Parkersburg, head east on Market Street towards 2nd Street. Continue on Market Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with 7th Street. Turn right on 7th Street and walk for another 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with the Parkersburg Memorial Bridge. Cross the bridge on foot, which will take you over the Ohio River. Once you are on the other side, continue straight to follow the path leading to Fort Boreman Drive. After approximately 0.5 miles, you will see signs for the Fort Boreman Scenic Overlook. Follow the signs and walk up the hill to reach the overlook, where you can enjoy stunning views of the city and river.

• Bicycling

  If you have a bicycle, you can start from the downtown Parkersburg area. Head east on Market Street towards 2nd Street. Continue on Market Street for about 0.5 miles. Turn right onto 7th Street and ride for about 0.3 miles until you reach the Parkersburg Memorial Bridge. Cross the bridge on your bicycle. After crossing, continue straight to follow Fort Boreman Drive. The scenic overlook is located at the end of the drive, approximately 0.5 miles away. There are bike racks available at the overlook for you to secure your bicycle while you enjoy the views.

  Check with local transit services for bus routes that may take you near Fort Boreman Scenic Overlook. If a bus is available, board the bus heading towards Fort Boreman Drive. Once you disembark, follow the signs directing you to the scenic overlook, which is a short walk from the nearest stop. Ensure to check the bus schedule for return trips to avoid being stranded.
