Start at the Wheeling Suspension Bridge, located at 1201 Main St, Wheeling, WV 26003. From the bridge, walk east along Main St for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with 14th St. Turn left onto 14th St and continue walking for approximately 0.3 miles. You will then reach the intersection with Market St. Cross Market St and continue straight onto 14th St, which will become Eoff St as you go. Walk straight for another 0.2 miles until you reach the entrance of Wheeling Park on your left.

Upon entering Wheeling Park, follow the main path that leads you through the park. Keep walking until you reach the fork in the path, where you will see signs indicating the direction to Mount Wood. Take the path leading upwards; it will take you on a moderate incline for about 0.4 miles. You’ll see the Mount Wood Overlook sign as you approach the lookout point.
