If you're traveling by car, start by heading south on State Highway 27 from Blue Hills. Continue for about 10 miles until you reach the junction with US-12. Turn left onto US-12 and continue for another 7 miles. Look for signs directing you to Mazomanie. As you enter Mazomanie, turn right onto Wachter Rd. The Black Hawk Unit will be on your left after approximately 1 mile. Parking is available on-site.

For those using public transportation, check for bus services that operate between Blue Hills and nearby towns such as Mazomanie. You may need to take a bus to Madison first, which may cost around $5-$10 depending on the service, and then transfer to a local bus heading to Mazomanie. Once in Mazomanie, you can either walk or take a taxi to Wachter Rd. The Black Hawk Unit is approximately 1 mile from the bus stop in Mazomanie.

Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous and want to bike, you can also cycle from Blue Hills. Take the same route as if you were driving, but be cautious of traffic on US-12. The distance is approximately 17 miles, and it’s advisable to wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws. There are some scenic spots along the way, so take your time and enjoy the ride!
