Walking
If you are starting from downtown Kenosha, head east towards the shore of Lake Michigan. Walk along 54th Street until you reach the lakefront. Continue south along the lake on the Kenosha Lakefront Path. Follow the path, which will take you along the lake and offer great views. After approximately 1.5 miles, you will reach Simmons Island, which is located at the end of the path. Look for the entrance to Simmons Island Park, where you can enjoy the natural beauty.
Public Transit (Bus)
From downtown Kenosha, take the Kenosha Area Transit bus route 4 towards the lakefront. Board the bus at the stop closest to you, and stay on the bus until you reach the stop at 56th Street and 4th Avenue. From there, walk east towards the lakefront. Head south along the Kenosha Lakefront Path, which will lead you directly to Simmons Island. The path is well-marked, and you'll enjoy views of the lake along the way.
Biking
If you have access to a bike, start from downtown Kenosha and head east towards the lake. You can rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops. Once you have your bike, ride along the Kenosha Lakefront Path. This scenic path will take you approximately 1.5 miles south along the lake. Follow the signs for Simmons Island, and you will arrive at the entrance of the island where you can explore the park and enjoy the views.
