If you are near the Capitol building in Capitol Square, head southeast on State Street. Continue walking straight for about 0.3 miles (approximately 7 minutes on foot). The Downtown Madison Visitor Center is located at 452 State St, just past the intersection with W Mifflin St. Look for the building with the sign that says 'Visitor Center' on the front.

For those who prefer not to walk, you can catch a Metro Transit bus. Look for a bus stop near Capitol Square. Take any bus heading towards the East Side or Downtown that stops at State Street. The fare is $2.00 for a single ride, which you can pay using cash or a Metro Transit pass. Get off at the stop closest to 452 State St, which is usually 'State St & W Mifflin St'. From there, it's just a short walk to the Visitor Center.
