Here, you will catch a bus (Route 5) at the East Washington Ave & Milwaukee St stop. Take the bus towards Northport Drive. After 15 minutes, get off at Northport Dr & Lakeland Ave. From the bus stop, walk southwest on Lakeland Avenue for about 5 minutes until you reach the Lizard Effigy Mound Historic Marker located at the intersection of Lakeland Ave and Hudson Ave.

Starting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, head northeast on University Ave. Continue onto East Washington Ave. You can find a bike lane on this route. After approximately 2 miles, turn right onto North Milwaukee Street. Keep cycling until you reach the Northport Dr & Lakeland Ave intersection. At this point, you will need to turn onto Lakeland Avenue and cycle for about 1 mile until you spot the Lizard Effigy Mound Historic Marker at the intersection of Lakeland Ave and Hudson Ave.
