Public Bus
Start at the central bus station in Wausau, located at 555 Scott St, Wausau, WI 54403. Board the Metro Ride bus route 2 heading towards the East. Ride the bus for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the stop at 'Cedar Creek Mall'. From the Cedar Creek Mall, transfer to bus route 5 towards Rib Mountain. Stay on the bus for about 15 minutes and get off at the stop 'Granite Peak Ski Area'. You will be just a short walk from the ski area entrance.
Bicycle
If you're up for a bike ride, start from downtown Wausau. Head south on Washington St towards the Riverfront Park. Follow the bike path along the Wisconsin River for about 3 miles until you reach the intersection with Rib Mountain Dr. Turn left onto Rib Mountain Dr and continue for about 1.5 miles. Follow the signs to Granite Peak Ski Area, which will be on your right. Ensure your bike is equipped for winter conditions if you're visiting during the snow season.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and the weather permits, you can walk to Granite Peak Ski Area. Start from the downtown area and head southeast on Scott St. Continue straight for about 2 miles until you reach Rib Mountain Dr. Turn left onto Rib Mountain Dr and walk for another 1.5 miles. You will see signage for Granite Peak Ski Area along the way. This route is approximately 3.5 miles and may take around 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your pace.
