Car
If you are coming from Buffalo, Wyoming, take US-87 N for approximately 22 miles. Then, turn left onto WY-16 W and continue for about 43 miles until you reach the Shell Falls parking area, which is located on the right side of the road. The drive offers beautiful views of the Bighorn National Forest, so make sure to stop at the scenic overlooks along the way.

From the town of Ten Sleep, head south on WY-43 for about 25 miles. Then, turn right onto WY-16 E and drive for approximately 15 miles. You will see the Shell Falls parking area on your left. This route is also scenic and provides a good opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the forest.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, there are limited options due to the remote nature of Bighorn National Forest. You can take a bus from nearby towns like Buffalo or Worland to the nearest drop-off point near the forest entrance. From there, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Shell Falls, as public transport does not go directly to the falls.
