If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Buffalo, Wyoming, which is approximately 30 miles northeast of Johnston Scout Rocks. Head southwest on US-87 S. Continue for about 24 miles until you reach the intersection with State Route 191. Turn left onto WY-191 S and continue for about 6 miles. You will see a sign for Johnston Scout Rocks and a small dirt access road leading to the site. Follow this road to reach the destination.
