If you're driving, start from Cody, WY. Take US-14 W towards Yellowstone National Park. After approximately 52 miles, you'll reach the East Entrance of Yellowstone. Pay the entrance fee, which is $35 per vehicle for a 7-day pass. Drive approximately 25 miles through the park on Grand Loop Road until you reach the junction with the road leading to Old Faithful. Follow the signs towards Old Faithful and continue for about 14 miles. Grand Geyser is located in the vicinity of the Old Faithful area. Look for parking near the Old Faithful Visitor Center, and from there, it's a short hike to Grand Geyser.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a bus service from Cody to Yellowstone National Park. Companies like Xanterra Parks & Resorts offer shuttles that operate seasonally. Once you arrive at the park, you can use the park’s shuttle service to get to the Old Faithful area. Note that the park does charge an entrance fee of $35 per vehicle for a 7-day pass, and you may need to purchase a shuttle ticket, which varies in cost depending on the service. Once at Old Faithful, you can walk to Grand Geyser, which is about a 1-mile hike from the Old Faithful area.
