Car
To reach Liberty Cap from Cody, WY, take US-14 W for about 47 miles until you reach the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Enter the park, then follow the Grand Loop Road for approximately 16 miles. Liberty Cap is located on the left side of the road, just before you reach Mammoth Hot Springs. There is no entrance fee for the park if you have an annual pass, otherwise, the fee is $35 per vehicle.
Public Transportation
Using public transportation, take a shuttle service from Cody to Yellowstone National Park. Various companies offer shuttles to the East Entrance. Once inside the park, you will need to transfer to the park's shuttle system. Board the shuttle heading towards Mammoth Hot Springs. Disembark at the Liberty Cap stop. Be sure to check schedules in advance, as shuttle services may vary seasonally.
Walking
If you're staying near Mammoth Hot Springs, you can hike to Liberty Cap. From the Mammoth Hot Springs Visitor Center, follow the trails that lead south towards Liberty Cap. The hike is moderate and offers beautiful views of the geothermal features in the area. Make sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring water and snacks.
