To reach Savage Run Wilderness from anywhere in Snowy Range, start by getting onto Highway 130. Head south on Highway 130 towards the town of Encampment. Once you reach Encampment, turn onto County Road 400 (also known as Savage Run Road). Follow this road for approximately 5 miles until you reach the Savage Run Wilderness area. There is no entrance fee, but ensure your vehicle is suitable for gravel roads.

While public transportation options are limited in this remote area, you can take a bus from Laramie to Rawlins via Greyhound or Wyoming Transit. Upon arriving in Rawlins, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Encampment. From Encampment, it's necessary to rent a car or find a local service that can transport you the final 5 miles to Savage Run Wilderness.
