Car
If you're driving from Jackson, head north on US-89 N/US-191 N towards Moran. Continue for about 26 miles until you reach the junction with Teton Park Road (Wyoming 390). Turn right onto Teton Park Road. Follow this road for approximately 12 miles, where you'll see signs directing you to Jackson Lake Dam. The dam is located at Teton Park Rd, Moran, WY 83013. There is no fee to access the dam area.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, take the START bus from Jackson to the Grand Teton National Park. Get off at the Colter Bay Village stop. From there, you will need to use a taxi or rideshare service to reach Jackson Lake Dam, which is about 8 miles away. The taxi fare may vary, so it’s advisable to check rates beforehand. As of now, there are no direct public transit connections to the dam itself.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, biking is an option! Starting from Jackson, bike along the bike path that connects to US-89 N/US-191 N. The total distance to Jackson Lake Dam is approximately 26 miles. Ensure you have proper gear and check the weather as conditions can change rapidly. This route will offer you stunning views of the Tetons along the way.
Hiking
If you're looking for a more immersive experience, consider hiking to Jackson Lake Dam. Starting from the Colter Bay area, you can take the trails that lead towards the dam. The hike is approximately 6 miles one way, and it offers beautiful scenic views of the surrounding area. Make sure to wear good hiking boots and carry enough water and snacks.
