Getting There

Car
From Jackson, WY, head north on US-89 N/US-191 N for approximately 30 miles until you reach the junction with WY-22. Take the exit onto WY-22 W towards Wilson. Continue on WY-22 W until it merges into ID-22 W. After about 25 miles, turn left onto ID-31 S. Follow ID-31 S for about 15 miles, then turn right onto ID-32 S. After approximately 3 miles, keep left to stay on ID-32 S, which will take you into Alta, WY. Once in Alta, look for signs directing you to the Jedediah Smith Wilderness area. Note that parking may be available near the wilderness entrance, but be prepared for possible parking fees or permits depending on the season.
