If you are traveling by car, head towards I-80. Depending on your starting point in Uinta County, you may take US-189 or US-30 to reach I-80. Once on I-80, exit 323 towards Buford. Continue on Monument Rd for about 1 mile. The Ames Monument State Historic Site will be on your right at 210 Monument Rd, Buford, WY 82052. There is no entrance fee to visit the site.

Public transportation options are limited in Uinta County. You may need to take a Greyhound or local shuttle to Laramie, WY, which is the nearest city with more transport options. From Laramie, you can use a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) or rent a car to drive to Ames Monument State Historic Site. Follow the same directions as above once you reach I-80.
