Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Jackson, WY, take US-89 N. Continue on US-89 N for about 12 miles. Turn right onto Teton Park Road (also known as Teton Pass Road). Continue on this road for about 5 miles until you see the signage for the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve. There is a parking area available, and it is recommended to arrive early as spaces can fill up quickly during peak season. Note that there may be a fee for parking, so be prepared with cash or a credit card.

• Public Transportation

  To reach the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve using public transportation, first, take the START Bus from Jackson, WY. Check the schedule for the most current routes and times. You will need to get off at the stop nearest to Teton Park Road. From there, it is approximately a 2-mile walk to the Preserve. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and be prepared for changing weather conditions. Note that walking along the road can be hazardous, so if you can, arrange for a ride from the bus stop to the Preserve.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike in Jackson and take the same route as if you were driving. Follow US-89 N and then turn onto Teton Park Road. The ride is scenic but be cautious of traffic. There are bike racks available at the Preserve, and it is a great way to explore the surrounding areas. Ensure you have a bike lock and all necessary safety gear.

• Hiking

  For the adventurous, consider hiking to the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve from nearby trailheads. If you are starting from the Death Canyon trailhead, it’s about a 6-mile hike to the Preserve. Make sure to carry a map, sufficient water, and snacks, and check the weather before you set out. This option is best suited for experienced hikers.
